Laser Engraving Delrin

Delrin is the trade name of a group of polyacetal materials (POM). This material is used for the production of a wide variety of materials. Delrin is well suited for laser engraving as this material can be easily removed by laser. It is used for making relief stamps.

Production of relief stamps

How does laser engraving of Delrin for pocket seals work?

The positive relief (male) is produced with white letters on a black background, while the negative relief (female) is inverted and mirrored. With the Trotec JobCreator software, the design of the two reliefs is produced automatically and is therefore particularly easy to realize. The reliefs produced in this manner are inserted into special pliers, which are then used for embossing the paper.

What needs to be observed in particular during the manufacture of pocket seals?

It is important to ensure that the two dies fit absolutely accurately. Make sure that the engraving has the correct depth. Embossing of too little depth will hardly be visible. If the embossing is too deep, on the other hand, the paper migh tear. You can save parameters once defined in the material database of the JobControl software and retrieve these at any time.

What other materials can I process?

Engraving of Delrin is carried out with a CO2 laser. The latter can also be used for a wide range of other materials, such as wood, glass, rubber, acrylic and plexiglass, plastics, paper, textiles or foams, for example.
